The project follows in the footsteps of some of the successes of the Putting Youth on Center Stage initiative. The focus of the new collaboration with JUST Nepal Foundation is to support young Nepalese to build strong, inclusive civil society platforms in their local communities.
The ambition is for young people to participate peacefully and productively in Nepal’s social and economic development processes.
When the project is completed at the end of 2021, the following objectives should be met:
- Poor and marginalized people in Helambu municipality have passed vocational courses so they are better able to access jobs or start various forms of income-generating activities.
- Young people will have established an inclusive cooperative with clear governance and where they have the capacity to mobilize, manage resources and grow their businesses
- Young people have also strengthened their capacity for leadership, citizenship and advocacy, and have created a number of platforms for youth engagement in society.
