About CICED
CICED was founded in November 2010. Behind the initiative was a group of people with more than 20 years of experience in development work, mainly as consultants and project managers on DANIDA-supported programs in the field of education.
CICED is established with the following objectives:
- Support the development of active civil societies locally, nationally and globally.
- work for the promotion of education, social conditions and health in poor/low-income countries.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
For sustainable development
The SDGs are 17 specific goals and 169 targets that commit all 193 UN member states to end poverty and hunger, reduce inequalities, ensure quality education and better health for all, decent jobs and more sustainable economic growth.
They also focus on promoting peace and security, strong institutions and strengthening international partnerships.
The new agenda thus recognizes that social, economic and environmental development, peace, security and international cooperation are closely interlinked and that achieving sustainable development outcomes requires integrated efforts.
CICED focuses in particular on the goals #1 end poverty; #4 quality education; #17 partnerships for action. Where relevant and possible, we also contribute to goals #3 health and well-being, #10 reducing inequality and #13 climate action.
